Ingredients to prepare Atlantic red shrimp with tamarind sauce
1. Raw Materials:
- Atlantic red shrimp - 500g
- Tamarind sauce
- Purple onion - 2 stalks
- Chili pepper - 2 pieces
- Fresh ginger - 1 small stem
- Cooking oil
- Salt, sugar, fried onions, pepper
2. How to Make:
Step 1: Prepare Shrimp
• Defrost shrimp before preparing
• Rinse the shrimp under cold water and drain.
• Peel the skin (or keep it as you like), cut off the head but keep the tail.
• Cut a small cut along the back of the shrimp to remove the intestines.
Step 2: Prepare Other Ingredients
• Purple onion, chili and ginger: Wash and chop finely.
• Prepare a small bowl to make tamarind sauce including a mixture of tamarind, sugar, salt, fish sauce, MSG, pepper and filtered water.
Step 3: Roast Shrimp
1. Heat the pan, add cooking oil.
2. When the oil is hot, add chopped shallot, chili and ginger and saute until fragrant.
3. Next, add the shrimp to the pan and stir-fry with shallots, chili and ginger until fragrant.
4. Pour the prepared tamarind mixture into the pan, stir well to coat the shrimp evenly with the spices and let the tamarind sauce absorb evenly, for 3 minutes.
Step 4: Perfecting the Dish
• Turn off the heat and serve the shrimp on a plate, garnished with some chopped red onion and green pepper.
• Serve on a plate, garnished with green onions or vegetables.
