Squid in English is called "Squid" and its scientific name is Teuthida, a group of marine animals belonging to the superorder Decapodiformes. Squid is a type of seafood characterized by its elongated, tubular body. The squid has a symmetrical body with 8 arms and 2 tentacles, a skin covered in pink spots, and large, transparent eyes. Inside the body of this species, like other squid species, there is a black substance.

When eaten, squid meat is sweet, aromatic, and fresh.

Squid contains many nutrients such as: protein, fat, vitamin PP, calcium, potassium, phosphorus, omega, vitamins (A, C, B1, B12, E, etc.), and selenium, which help promote the growth and development of immune cells, enhancing overall immunity for the human body. Additionally, whole squid also contains high levels of cholesterol. Besides providing many nutrients, squid has various benefits such as:

Strong bones and teeth: The phosphorus and calcium in squid help children grow.

  1. Prevent arthritis: Fresh squid contains up to 63% selenium, which helps combat oxidation, thereby reducing joint pain symptoms.
  2. Support red blood cell formation: Those who lack red blood cells should add squid to their diet immediately, as squid provides up to 905% of the daily value of copper. Copper also helps the body absorb, store, and metabolize to create red blood cells.
  3. Enhance the immune system: Squid also helps prevent heartburn, reduce blood pressure, and stabilize blood sugar levels.
